We had never heard of Roy Orbison until this song was released and stormed our charts back in 1960. It rocketed all the way to the top, pushing Ricky Valance's "Tell Laura I Love Her" off the #1 spot on 22 October. His unique style and vocals kept him in our charts for many years, with 33 different hit records and a total of 345 weeks in the charts here in England.
