Los Angeles voice actor and impressionist Jeff McNeal has collaborated once again with two YouTube friends and my own local band mate to recreate this classic by Eric Burdon & The Animals. This song has long been a personal favorite of mine, but no backing tracks exist that I am aware of. After two recent collaborations with Isao (Japan) and Fraser (Scotland), I asked if they might be interested in helping me create a tribute cover of "Help Me Girl", which I believe, was the final hit for Eric Burdon & The Animals before he left the group. I've always felt that this great song was underrated. Happily, Osakazep1995 and Phrase were ready to oblige. My bandmate, Terry, had seen our previous collaborations (Led Zeppelin's "All Of My Love" and Bad Company's "Can't Get Enough) and expressed interest in joining in. So, we brought Terry in, who handled the harpsichord, the organ and piano, while Isao handled bass and the 5-piece brass section, with Fraser on drums. I handled the vocals (naturally!). We wound up creating two different mixes. Fraser took the 12-track master and mixed the song as close as possible to the original hit. Whereas I took the same tracks and created a modern remix by moving the horns around, primarily, to create more of a spread in stereo. This is my REMIX version. We sincerely hope that Mr. Burdon and any surviving members of the original Animals would be pleased with our efforts to pay tribute to their outstanding classic. Moreover, we hope our friends and subscribers will enjoy the effort as well. Cheers.
